What’s the main difference between TFT screen, LED backlight and IPS LCD screen?

TFT: TFT means that a TFT (Thin Film Transistor) refers to a thin film transistor, meaning that each liquid crystal pixel is driven by a thin film transistor integrated behind the pixel. It is the current one that is actively driven. Correspondingly, the black is shown as a passive drive. Now basically the higher resolution is the TFT-LCD used.

LED backlight,because liquid crystal display is a non-active display technology, that is, the liquid crystal panel is just an optical switch that controls the switch of each pixel to display the image. That requires a surface light source to illuminate behind this light switch. This surface light source is called a backlight. There are two types of backlights, one is FCCL (cold cathode tube) and LED (light emitting diode). LED backlight is the light source is LED.

IPS is the first Hitachi patent,and now LG and Chi Mei are granted patents. Relatively speaking, the direction of liquid crystal alignment in the panel is different.Thereby achieving the effect of expanding the angle of view. That is to say, in the wider angle of the left and right of the display device, the effect of the display, the color change is not large. IPS technology has obvious advantages: if the angle of view is wider, there is no obvious color change on the pressed screen, but it also leads to an increase in energy consumption (lower transmittance). Being used as a TV is advantageous, but as a mobile phone, computer, IPS has no advantage.
